Xandr Brown

Xandr Brown is the editor emeritus of Flintside. She also served as project editor for Flintside's inaugural On the Ground series in the Civic Park neighborhood and is a lifelong resident of Genesee County. A graduate of Powers Catholic High School, she went on to the University of Rochester in New York state, where she earned a bachelor's degree with a dual major in English/Communications and History and minor in Environmental Humanities. Xandr especially loves photography and is also a classically trained pianist.

Flintside is hosting a conversation with those covered and involved in our coverage in order to take a look back at their experiences, the effect of neighborhood journalism, and hopes for what is to come.

New pilot program offered to Genesee County kids

Genesee Career Institute launched its Aviation Academy this year in partnership with Crosswinds Aviation and Bishop International Airport. The program offers Genesee County high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to gain a thorough introduction to the ins and outs of a global industry that is suffering a shortage of workers.
