FLINT, Michigan — Dante Lott is an entrepreneur, promotor, mentor, and advocate who’s on a mission to inspire his community. The Flint native frequently holds events throughout the city to give back and honor those he has lost.

This year, he’s held back-to-school rallies as well as coat and food giveaways, and with his organization, Men Motivating Men, Lott encourages men in Flint to heal through togetherness. He shares his story to inspire entrepreneurs, leaders, and agents of change.

Lott recognized this year’s World Homeless Day on Oct. 10 by holding a lunch giveaway for Flint’s unhoused population. From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., volunteers made sack lunches in an assembly line. He’s now preparing for an upcoming trunk-or-treat event and community coat giveaway that will take place on Thursday, Oct. 31 at 4 p.m. at Riverside West Park.

Created to give back to his community, Men Motivating Men encourages boys and men to be confident, determined, and ready for broad success. The organization accomplishes this mission through programming, therapy, and community events.

Lott explains that setting up our youth for broad success entails supporting the more common dream of pursuing a sports career while expanding possibilities. He challenges growth by asking, “What else?” and then equipping the youth he supports with the resources needed to reach the exponential goals they set for themselves.

Men Motivating Men currently offers motivational speaking, a youth entrepreneurship program as well as twice-a-week therapy services for men and youth. Programs highlight confidence and teach consistency. Youth participants can engage in realistic entrepreneurship practices and are allowed to put their ideas in motion.

Lott’s entrepreneurial experience also comes from his clothing brand, Solidified Clothing, which represents the official stamp of people who cannot be broken. He shares this entrepreneurial insight during his weekly ‘Network Your Net Worth Wednesday’s’ business mixer at King’s Cigar Lounge every Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Therapy services are held for young men ages 12-17 on Tuesdays at the Gloria Coles Flint Public Library from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Therapy services for adult men are held on Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 1035 E. Carpenter Rd. in Flint.

Also, Lott’s ‘Come Eat & Give Thanks’ Thanksgiving event will be held at the Berston Field House on Wednesday, Nov. 27, from 12 noon to 3 p.m. or until the food is gone.
