Flint’s Hip-Hop community comes together to celebrate Jake The Flake’s musical legacy and retirement from rap in a one-night-only tribute.

FLINT, Michigan — Flint Hip-Hop legend Jake The Flake, also known as Jakafella, will be celebrated in a one-of-a-kind live tribute event, The Jake The Flake Experience, on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, at the Wyndham Hotel Conference Center in Flint.
Presented by Unfiltered & Evolving Entertainment, the evening is designed to be an intimate conversation about music and life. The show will blend live band performances, DJ sets, spoken word, and an interview-style dialogue that takes audiences through Jake’s musical journey, legacy, and his decision to retire from rap after decades of influence on Flint’s Hip-Hop scene.
Hosted by Flint natives Kelly Kinkaid and Eddie Kane, the event will open with a red carpet at 7 p.m., followed by the main program from 8–9:45 p.m. The show will feature curated moments where Jake reflects on his career, punctuated by classic tracks, tributes from fellow artists, and special performances.
“This is personal, raw, and real,” say organizers from Unfiltered & Evolving Entertainment. “The Jake The Flake Experience isn’t just a concert; it’s a chance for Flint to celebrate one of its own, honor his retirement, and keep the legacy of our Hip-Hop scene alive.”
