FLINT, Michigan — Flint parents and caregivers are invited to make their voices heard at the upcoming ‘Breaking Barriers to Educational Excellence’ event, hosted by the Flint Parent Collaborative on Tuesday, April 22 at 12:30 p.m. at the Gloria P. Coles Flint Public Library.

The event will highlight findings from the Flint Family Landscape Assessment, a recent report that identifies structural and systemic barriers impacting student success in Flint. Organizers say the event will serve as a platform for community members to discuss the results, propose solutions, and strengthen advocacy efforts for local educational improvements.

The assessment, available at theflintcenter.org under the Flint Parent Collaborative tab, outlines the challenges Flint families face in pursuing quality education, including resource gaps, inequitable systems, and community concerns around learning environments.

All Flint parents are encouraged to attend the event, participate in the conversation, and contribute to the ongoing push for better educational opportunities in the city.

Lunch will be provided, and seating is limited, so guests are asked to RSVP here online by April 16 or to call the Flint Center at (810) 202-2568.
