FLINT, Michigan — Communities First, Inc. invites residents to experience food, music, and traditions from around the world at this year’s ‘A Taste of Culture,’ happening Saturday, Oct. 11, from noon to 3 p.m. at the CFI Center, 1110 W. Bristol Rd. on the former Baker College campus.
Free and open to the public, the family-friendly event celebrates global heritage through cuisine, performances, and storytelling. Guests can sample traditional dishes from multiple countries, watch live art and dance showcases, and learn greetings and phrases in various languages.
“This event is all about bringing people together. We hosted ‘A Taste of Culture’ for five years and took a break following the pandemic — we are excited to be back!” says Essence Wilson, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer at Communities First, Inc. “By sharing food, art, and music, we create space for understanding, appreciation, and joy across cultures.”
Whether it’s tasting something new for the first time, learning a greeting in another language, or dancing along to international rhythms, ‘A Taste of Culture’ offers something for everyone.
