Hamilton Community Health Network Delivers More Than 100 Blankets to Flint Warming Centers
Hamilton Community Health Network steps in with 100+ blankets for Flint warming centers this winter.

FLINT, Michigan — Hamilton Community Health Network (HCHN) is delivering more than 100 new blankets to warming centers in the Flint area this week, supporting individuals who rely on these spaces for shelter and safety during winter. The blankets will be distributed to community members staying at Catholic Charities’ Center for Hope and the Flint Shelter warming centers. The delivery highlights ongoing collaboration between healthcare providers, faith-based organizations, and service agencies working to support Flint residents during the winter months.
The donation reflects a broader understanding that healthcare extends beyond clinical settings. For people without stable housing, exposure to extreme cold can quickly lead to serious health complications, including hypothermia, respiratory illness, and the worsening of chronic conditions. Warming centers help mitigate these risks, and additional resources, such as blankets, increase their ability to meet seasonal demand.
The blanket collection was led by Hamilton staff and supported by members of Joy Tabernacle Church, King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church, and Bethel United Methodist Church. Together, the organizations collected donations as part of a community-wide effort to address immediate needs related to health, safety, and dignity.
Hamilton Community Health Network will deliver the blankets at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, December 17, at Catholic Charities’ Center for Hope, located at 812 East Root Street in Flint.
