FLINT, Michigan — Becoming a mother can be one of life’s most rewarding and most challenging experiences. To make the journey a little easier, Hamilton Community Health Network is hosting “Let’s Talk About It,” a free monthly event for new moms and moms-to-be to learn, relax, and connect.

The next session takes place on Wednesday, Nov. 12, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Main Clinic (2900 N. Saginaw St., Flint). Supported by Molina Healthcare, the event provides a welcoming space for women to share their stories, ask questions, and access helpful information about pregnancy and baby care.

Each month features a new topic and guest speaker. This month’s discussion focuses on how doulas support mothers through childbirth and the importance of breastfeeding, led by Shonte Terhune-Smith, a local health educator, doula, and breastfeeding expert who works daily to empower moms with confidence and care.

Participants can expect light refreshments, prizes (including items like a car seat, highchair, or gift cards), and the chance to connect with other women in similar stages of motherhood.

“Let’s Talk About It” takes place every second Wednesday of the month, ensuring there’s always something new to learn and someone new to meet. While childcare isn’t provided, the event offers a supportive environment for expectant and new mothers to build community.

Those interested can register online here to attend. To learn more about Hamilton Community Health Network’s services, visit hamiltonchn.org or call (810) 406-4246.
