FLINT, Michigan — The new women’s collective giving organization Impact100 Genesee County recently announced its inaugural grant application which opened on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. Dedicated to bringing together a diverse array of women who are passionate about philanthropy, Impact100 Genesee County is inviting nonprofit organizations to apply for a substantial grant of $57,000.

This grant is designated for a single nonprofit organization and underscores Impact100 Genesee County’s commitment to driving positive change and bolstering impactful initiatives within the community.

Members of Impact100 Genesee County, each contributing $1,000 or more annually, collaborate to pool their resources and fund high-impact grants across five crucial areas:

  • Arts and Culture
  • Children, Families, and Seniors
  • Education
  • Environment, Recreation, and Animal Welfare
  • Health and Wellness

Nonprofit organizations aiming to qualify for the grant must meet specific criteria, including:

  • Holding tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code
  • Operating independently without a financial sponsor (with local affiliates eligible to apply under the 501(c)(3) of the national organization)
  • Being situated within Genesee County
  • Providing at least two full years of financial statements
  • Maintaining an annual operating budget below $5,000,000

Following the application review process, five finalists for the grant will be unveiled by the end of August. The ultimate recipient will be determined through a voting process by members during the annual ‘Big Give’ event scheduled for September 26, 2024, at the Flint Farmers’ Market.
