In Pictures: Brownell-Holmes Neighborhood 2024

 

FLINT, Michigan — Riding through the Brownell-Holmes neighborhood, I noticed plenty of life bustling around — kids riding bikes with their friends, moms spending time with their children at the park, and a group of young men playing an intense game of pickup basketball — enjoying the end of summer.

I was surprised to see so much happening around the neighborhood. From the community center hosting ‘Art in the Park’ to neighbors laughing amongst each other, it seemed that the neighborhood thrived when given positive activities to engage in.

It became apparent to me that Brownell-Holmes residents were committed to keeping the community alive and together through extracurricular activity. Their commitment to change was evident, and it was good to see how the community was thriving.
