African-American high school seniors who live in and are graduating from a school in Flint or Genesee County are invited to apply for a college scholarship from the Urban League of Flint.
For 37 of its 60 years, the Urban League of Flint has awarded scholarships to local college-bound students as part of its mission to fight for educational and financial equity.
Students selected for the scholarships will be honored during the Urban League’s annual Salute to Black Scholars All Stars Awards program on May 15 at New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church. The scholarships are funded through sponsorships by community groups, corporations, and higher education institutions.
To be eligible for the scholarship, students must live in and graduate from a school in Genesee County with a grade point average of at least a 3.0. Eligible recipients must attend a post-secondary institution to continue their education in fall 2019.
