FLINT, Michigan — The Mott Community College (MCC) Culinary Arts Institute’s prestigious
Distinguished Chef Series is set to make a flavorful return on April 2-3, featuring celebrity chef and decorated U.S. Army combat veteran, Chef Andre Rush.
Renowned for his culinary expertise and his 24-inch biceps, Chef Rush gained international fame in 2018 after a viral photo of him preparing meals at the White House.
With over 20 years of military service, he has cooked for multiple presidential administrations and used his platform to advocate for veterans, mental health awareness, and healthy living. He is also a best-selling author, motivational speaker, Olympic award-winning chef, and TV personality.
“We are very excited to bring Chef Rush to the Flint-area to share his expertise and talent with our students and the community,” said Chef Matthew Cooper, Coordinator and Professor in the MCC Culinary Arts Program. “This is a wonderful opportunity for foodies in the community to have an outstanding culinary experience.”
The two-day event offers multiple opportunities for the community to engage with Chef Rush and experience his culinary artistry. On April 2, the
Future Chef’s Lunch will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the MCC Culinary Arts Institute, with a ticket price of $100 per person. Seating is limited to 80 guests.
The following evening, April 3, the
Hands That Feed the Future Gala will offer an exclusive fine-dining experience. The event begins at 5:00 p.m. with a cocktail hour featuring passed hors d’oeuvres and champagne, followed by an elegant seven-course dinner.
Each course will be paired with fine wines and accompanied by live entertainment from MCC music students Jasmine Turman and Lucas Perro. The gala is priced at $225 per person, with seating limited to 84 guests.
For those interested in supporting the event at a higher level, sponsorship opportunities are available. Table sponsorships for the luncheon start at $950, while dinner sponsorships range from $500 to $1,500. Sponsors will receive reserved seating and complimentary access to
The Chef Rush Experience, a special presentation and book signing at the Capitol Theatre on April 2 at 5:30 p.m.
Tickets for all events are available at mcceventsonline.com. Additionally, tickets for The Chef Rush Experience at the Capitol Theatre can be purchased separately for $25 at thefim.org/event/chefrush.
