FLINT, Michigan — Next month, the Flint & Genesee Group will reveal the honorees for its first-ever
40 Under 40 program to be highlighted in the September-October edition of
AND Magazine — the leading business publication for Flint and Genesee County.
The
40 Under 40 program is a Flint & Genesee Group initiative created to recognize and distinguish young professionals in Flint who are making a difference and emerging in local companies and organizations throughout the community.
“At Flint & Genesee Group, we’ve seen firsthand that there’s a new generation of movers and shakers who are working diligently to help make Flint and Genesee a great place to live, work, and play,” said Brianna Mosier, director of Organizational Development at Flint & Genesee Group. “These professionals deserve to know they are valued for making a difference in our companies and community, and that’s what
40 Under 40 aims to show.”
Honorees were selected from a pool of 100 nominees by a local committee of business owners and community leaders. These 40 honorees, all under the age of 40, will have big ideas, dreams, and visions for their companies or organizations, and our community.
According to a Flint & Genesee Group press release, the honorees to be announced are individuals that are driven by success, motivated by challenges, and are role models for their peers.
Nominees were deemed eligible based on the following criteria:
- Nominees must have been 39 years or younger, as of December 31, 2022.
- Nominees must have spent the majority of their work time in Flint & Genesee; or, if employed outside of Genesee County, must have held a leadership position in a local community organization and be a resident of Flint & Genesee.
- Nominees must have been an owner, executive, manager, professional, or person with significant influence.
Honorees will be publicly recognized as exceptional leaders next month through individually published profiles in the upcoming edition of
AND Magazine. News will also be shared through all Flint & Genesee Group’s social media channels and subscriber newsletters. News will also be shared with local media outlets.
“Between the Group and each of our divisions, there’s always something happening as it relates to business, economic development, placemaking, and education. By following us, you’ll be among the first to know about our efforts and can get involved where it makes sense,” said Mosier.
“We hope this will inspire more community members to invest their time and talents in Flint and Genesee,” continued Mosier. “Our
40 Under 40 honorees show that you don’t need to leave the community to do great things. If anything, Flint and Genesee is the perfect place for professionals who want to make a difference.”
