FLINT, Michigan — The Flint Farmers' Market is celebrating a decade at its current location (300 East First St) with a special Night Market on Thursday, June 20 from 5-8 p.m. Attendees can look forward to music, a photo booth, free giveaways, prizes, games, face painting, and exclusive $10 or 10% off deals. Many vendors will also be offering free samples. This event is free and open to the public.
The Flint Farmers' Market attracts nearly 500,000 visitors annually. It hosts 45 year-round vendors indoors and an additional 25-30 seasonal vendors in the outdoor pavilion.
"We are so grateful for all our wonderful customers, near and far, who have supported us over the years! We are proud of the welcoming place we have created, and the credit for that goes to all of the amazing family businesses that make up this market and our fantastic staff who keep our market safe, clean, and ready for business!" said Karianne Martus, Market Manager, in a recent press statement.
The market was established in 1905 on the side streets of downtown Flint and had various locations before spending almost 75 years on the banks of the Flint River. Uptown Reinvestment Corporation has owned the market since 2002.
Over the years, the market has received national acclaim, earning titles such as America's Most Loved Market, one of CNN's Top 10 Public Markets, and one of Thrillist’s Top 10 Markets to See Before You Die. It has also been recognized as one of the Top 5 Places in America by the American Planning Association and consistently ranks as Michigan's top market on various farming, agriculture, and tourism sites.
The Flint Farmers' Market is open year-round on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 9 am to 5 pm. For more information, visit: flintfarmersmarket.com.
