FLINT, Michigan — Flint residents are invited to a Health Resource Fair at Hasselbring Senior Center featuring more than 20 local agencies providing services to men, women, children, and families.
Hosted by the Flint Area Chapter of The Links Incorporated, the event is 2-5 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2019, at Hasselbring, 1002 W. Home Ave. Participating agencies include a wide variety of local entities from Berston Field House to the YWCA.
“Service to the community and awareness of area resources is critical to the citizens of Flint,” said Shirley W. Johnson, president of the Links Flint Area Chapter. “In addition to health, table hosts represent the arts, literacy, job training, entrepreneurial assistance and voter registration.”
The Kuungana African Drum and Dance Company will perform at 3:30 p.m.
The Flint Area Chapter of The Links Incorporated was chartered March 31, 1979 with the goal of servicing the community in five facet areas; Services to Youth, The Arts, National Trends and Services, International Trends and Services, and Health and Human Services.
It created a Flint Kids Matter Fund in 2016 in response to the Flint Water Crisis. The Community Foundation of Greater Flint fund has supported neighborhood playgrounds, educational initiatives, and healthy lifestyle programs.
