FLINT, Michigan — Have you ever been able to ask the author the meaning behind a symbol in your favorite novel? Sat down and chatted about the protagonists in your most recent fiction read with the person who wrote the tale? Well, on Saturday, April 29, you'll have the chance to do just that as the
Genesee District Library invites the community to the Local Author Showcase at the
Grand Blanc-McFarlen branch (515 Perry Rd., Grand Blanc).
The event features meet and greets and book signings with 20 local authors from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Authors of all ages will be showcasing their original work across all genres, styles, and targeted age groups. Whether you’re a fan of fiction, self-help books, memoirs of health journeys, children’s literature, or spooky ghost stories, there’s a story just for you.
“Our community is rich with authors in all genres,” says Kelly Flynn, Community Relations Manager at Genesee District Library. “We are proud to bring them together for this fabulous event.”
Flynn says the annual event is always well-attended. Not only does it provide entertainment and education for readers, but also for those writers interested in becoming published authors, too. “Patrons can chat with authors, learn about the world of publishing, and the writing process,” says Flynn.
Jackie Montague, Community Relations Assistant at Genesee District Library, says “Everyone should stop by. There are so many wonderful authors to meet. There’s really something for everyone.”
