Michael Jackson tribute show “Invincible” comes to Flint’s Capitol Theatre

FLINT, Michigan — Fans of Michael Jackson can relive the magic of the King of Pop this Friday, Jan. 17, as “Invincible: A Glorious Tribute to Michael Jackson” takes the stage at the FIM Capitol Theatre. Scheduled for 8 p.m., the show will be an evening of thrilling performances and unforgettable memories, celebrating the legacy of one of the greatest entertainers of all time.

Touted as the number one Michael Jackson tribute show in the world, “Invincible” transports audiences into the heart of Jackson’s artistry.

The show features recreations of the singer's iconic dance moves and legendary hits, crafted under the choreography of Lavelle Smith Jr., who worked alongside Jackson for over two decades. From the moonwalk to the sequined glove, every detail is brought to life.

The show’s creator, director, and producer, Darrin Ross, shared his inspiration for “Invincible,” describing the production as “Michael Jackson on steroids.” “I created it shortly after Michael died,” explained Ross. “There needed to be something that would transport the audience to the world of Michael Jackson.”

Audience members will experience the talents of two performers portraying Jackson: Pete Carter as the dancer and Jeff Perez as the singer. Their combined efforts ensure an authentic representation of Jackson’s unparalleled talent. The show also includes recreations of music videos and features routines that Jackson rehearsed but never performed live.

Lavelle Smith Jr. played a pivotal role in shaping “Invincible” as a creative consultant and historian, lending his firsthand knowledge of Jackson’s artistry to Ross’s vision.

According to Ross, the tribute show is family-friendly and designed to appeal to anyone who cherishes Michael Jackson’s contributions to music and philanthropy. “We want everyone to come and see state-of-the-art visuals, dynamic choreography, and a powerhouse cast of talented performers,” said Ross.
