Move gives Flint children access to mental, physical health services in one location

FLINT, Michigan — All of Genesee Health System’s Child & Family Services programs are relocating to a shared location within the Mott Children’s Health Center.

The move is expected to be complete the week of Nov. 5. Several Child and Family employees moved their offices to Mott Children’s Health Center a year ago. The collaboration was so successful that the agencies decided to co-locate the entire office at Mott Children’s Health Center.

The Mott Children’s Health Center and  Genesee Health System bring their own skill set to the joint space that hosts them. While The Mott Children’s Health Center provides medical, dental and behavioral health services to eligible children in Genesee County; Genesee Health System is a public mental health provider for the county.

“GHS is pleased to expand our partnership with Mott Children’s Health Center to continue to meet the complete healthcare needs of area children. We know that when mental health is available at the same location as physical health care, families are better able to coordinate the complete care that their families need and reduce the stigma of seeking mental health care,” said Danis Russell, CEO of GHS.

Mott Children’s Health Center is located at 806 Tuuri Place in Flint, near Hurley Hospital.
