Over $170,000 raised through Hurley breast cancer awareness event

FLINT, Michigan—The community organizations showed up and showed out for local breast cancer patients at Hurley Medical Center’s October Pink Night Palooza, together raising $170,000 with no tickets left over.

In tandem with a bra auction, Hurley’s annual Pink Night Palooza strives to ease the financial stress that breast cancer patients face during treatment, allowing them to focus on self-care. A record amount of donations will go to Hurley’s Breast Cancer Patient Navigation program that helps breast cancer patients keep their homes, cars, and electricity on while they are receiving treatment, resulting in long hospital stays.

Hurley Medical Center and founding sponsor, Financial Plus Credit Union announced the total that was raised through the event as well as multiple mini-fundraisers with community partners:

Pink Partee - $25,000

Grand Blanc Huntsman’s Club - $11,370.56

Insta-Lube - $8,236.65

Halo Burger - $7,205.63

Serendipity - $5,162.66

Eclections - $4,581.29

Jazzercize - $3,100

Chanda Jones - $2,014

Edible Arrangements - $600

A special thank you from sponsors, hosts, and all those that attended goes out to the patients who shared their stories of survival.
