Midwest Impact Day of Service – Oct. 26

On Saturday, Oct. 26, in conjunction with the Flint National Pan-Hellenic Council, the Midwest Impact Day of Service (MIDS) will mark the start of in-person voting in Michigan. The event, taking place from noon to 2 PM at 1101 Saginaw St. in Flint, will encourage residents to vote early, with volunteers offering support and celebrating early voters.

MIDS activities will include early morning door-to-door outreach, transport assistance to polling stations, and providing voter information. The event will culminate in an Early Voting Day Party from 12:30 PM to 4 PM at Sweetwater Tavern at 500 Saginaw St. in Downtown Flint.

"It's crucial to support voter engagement and inform the community about their voting rights," said Tamar Swain, president of the Flint Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. "These events do not endorse any candidate but focus on the voting process and deadlines. With important races on the line, we all share the responsibility to stay informed and encourage others to get involved."

The Flint Alumnae Chapter invites the entire community to join in on these efforts.
