FLINT, Michigan — Movies Under the Stars returns to Flint this summer a series of free family-friendly movies and events hosted by Communities First, Inc.

Movies Under the Stars kicks off Friday, June 28 with “The LEGO Movie 2” on the back lawn of Flint City Hall. Other scheduled showings include “Smallfoot” on July 12 and “Incredibles 2” on Aug. 9, also on the back lawn at Flint City Hall. The final movie of the series is “Peter Rabbit” showing at Applewood on Aug. 23.

All Movies Under the Stars start with a pre-party at 7:30 p.m. with lawn games, dancing and music. Every week is a bit different, but past pre-parties have included bounce houses, petting zoos and contests.

Films show at dusk. All guests receive a bag of popcorn, a drink≤ and candy to enjoy during the movie.

The event is free, but donations are appreciated.

“We are looking forward to the sixth season of Movies Under the Stars,” said Glenn Wilson, president and CEO of Communities First. “The community has been supportive of this series and we will continue to provide a high-quality experience for Flint and Genesee County.”
