FLINT, Michigan — For many who spent their childhood in the 90s, video games like the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and Sega Genesis were more than just a way to pass the time. These games became core memories that taught problem-solving skills, social engagement, and collaboration.

Flint native Jacoby Brandon started Park and Play Mobile Gaming after being inspired by seeing the joy video games bring to others. This mobile gaming experience creates community and encourages connection.

The Park and Play Mobile Gaming truck brings entertainment to its customers in an all-inclusive way, offering a variety of video games on systems like Play Station 5, XBOX One, Nintendo Wii, and others.

The truck can be booked by the hour for gaming experiences, including birthday parties, school and community events, or even just personal experiences. Sensory-friendly options are also offered to allow gamers to be in their comfort zones.

Brandon also points out that the prayers over his business have allowed it to flourish. “It has been prayed over and it has been blessed,” said Brandon.

Tailoring services to communities that are frequently overlooked in social settings creates a welcoming environment as this judgment-free zone invites all gamers. The variety of entertainment ranges from traditional video games to laser tag. In addition, foam machine services are also offered.

As an entrepreneur, Brandon brings family and friends together. Much of the motivation for Park and Play Mobile Gaming has been being able to engage with his family every day. As a parent of a child on the spectrum, he has witnessed the therapeutic value of gaming and hopes to provide that experience for others.

Brandon hopes to encourage other entrepreneurs to create something for themselves no matter what season they are in. With the support of family, he has been able to demonstrate the power of collaboration and show other families how to do the same.

He also hopes to play a hand in bringing a positive name back to the city of Flint. “We want to leave a positive impact,” said Brandon.
