One Holmes STEM Academy employee saw the series as an opportunity to continue with Holmes' effort to provide deliberate and tailor-made programs to the Brownell-Holmes community, a centerpoint of the school’s methodology since transitioning from Brownell-Holmes Elementary to Holmes in 2013.
Despite the HAP Crim Festival of Races’ cancellation this year, members of the Brownell-Holmes CrimFit Adult Training Program Team are still committed to crossing the marathon’s finish line, even if they have to do it virtually.
Neighborhood residents have worked to stay safe and make sure others do the same in the midst of the pandemic.
Brownell-Holmes and its residents are one and the same. Thanks to their sense of community and dedication to their home, these residents have been able to prosper while much of the northside of Flint struggles.
In an effort to highlight both community members' hard work as well as the steps yet to be taken, Flintside is proud to launch its second On the Ground series in Brownell-Holmes.
