Joy Tabernacle Church home to new water delivery effort

A new water distribution program delivered water jugs to 10 families over the weekend and has a lofty goal of delivering 40 gallons of clean water to every Flint household. The effort comes with backing from legendary artists Harry Belafonte and Paul Simon.

A summer kickoff of the Civic Park Centennial Celebration is set for 2-6 p.m. May 14 at Joy Tabernacle Church. Current and former residents of Civic Park — as well as the community at large — are invited to join the festivities, which are part of the neighborhood’s year-long effort to honor and preserve its history.

Flintside partners with Civic Park neighborhood to launch On the Ground

Flintside will serve the Civic Park neighborhood with weekly storytelling, paid journalism fellowships and training for residents to tell their own stories in their own words, a community newsroom, photography and video.
