Mahindra is eying Buick City for a development that could bring 2,000 jobs to Flint.

History shows Mahindra — the automaker looking to create 2,000 Flint jobs — has long been an ally

The possible expansion to Buick City wouldn’t be the company’s first tie to Flint. Researchers in Kettering University’s Advanced Power Electronics Lab partnered with GenZe, a Mahindra-owned sustainable transportation company, to develop a prototype of an electric scooter in 2013.

Allegiant has grown exponentially this year at Bishop, surpassing Delta Airlines as the largest airline in Flint. It accounts for about 40 percent of Bishop Airport’s customers — largely because of its non-stop service to Florida.

Alley Fest returns 3-10 p.m. Saturday, July 13, and this year will be fully enclosed — spanning from Buckham Alley and portions of First and Saginaw streets — which allows for the addition of street (and alley) bars.

Fearless Women of Flint honored in newly commissioned sculpture

Created by British-Nigerian artist yinka Shonibare, the piece "Magic Ladder Kid VI" incorporates the names of 20 women who have had an impact on Flint and beyond. It will be on display at the MW Gallery in downtown Flint starting June 1.
