Flint River Watershed Coalition merges with Flint River Corridor Alliance

Two stewards of the Flint River have consolidated their efforts to protect, promote and improve the watershed.

The Flint River Corridor Alliance became an official chapter of the Flint River Watershed Coalition effective Jan. 1, 2018, in a move to maximize organizational resources and revitalization efforts.

Under the merger, the Corridor Alliance chapter will continue its work along the river corridor in the City of Flint and host annual events including Cycling Circles and the Flint River Flotilla. The Flint River Watershed Coalition will maintain its broader focus on the seven counties of the watershed through such projects as water quality monitoring and the GREEN environmental education program, among others.
