Three Flint City Bucks players drafted into 2020 Major League Soccer

On Jan. 9, the MLS held the first two rounds of the draft, during which the three defensive specialists, Nyal Higgins, Patrick Nielson, and Michael Wetungu, were named. The three players add to the list of over 80 former Bucks to be drafted to the MLS since 1999.

United Way of Genesee County will hold its third annual Martin Luther King Jr. volunteer event on Monday, Jan. 20 when 600 volunteers will pack 200,000 meals, up from the initial goal of 150,000.

Next Monday will commemorate the 25th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr. Day as a national day of service by Congress and a total of 200,000 pre-packaged meals will be given to families in need.

Local groups like block clubs maintain vacant lots held by the Land Bank. Each group is responsible for maintaining at least 25 lots throughout the growing season.

The science fair, held annually at Kettering University for over two decades, host a vide variety of science fair projects from students across the state of Michigan. It is here that students showcase their solutions to community problems.
