Sound Mind Health Services to Celebrate Four Years With Women’s Mental Wellness Event
Sound Mind Health Services marks four years with a free women’s wellness event Oct. 10 in Flint.

FLINT, Michigan — Sound Mind Health Services will mark its fourth anniversary and launch a new membership program for women at a free community event on Saturday, October 10, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Gloria Coles Flint Public Library. Hosted on World Mental Health Day, the gathering is presented by IBS Consulting Agency.
The afternoon will center on honest conversation about women’s mental health and everyday wellness, paired with professional perspectives, practical support, and chances to connect with other women and discover local resources. Organizers describe the event as an invitation for women who are leading businesses, caring for families, or navigating life transitions to pause and prioritize their own well-being.
Four women from the fields of mental health, medicine, nursing, and healthcare leadership will speak:
- Chrystal Ojo, founder of Sound Mind Health Services and a dual board-certified nurse practitioner
- Tarnesa “Nurse T” Martin, patient resource and community advocate at Hurley Medical Center, nurse, author, and empowerment coach
- Dr. Aisha Harris, a Flint native, board-certified family physician, and founder of Harris Family Health
- Cecilia Rutherford, chief operating officer of Hamilton Community Health Network
Attendees will also get an introduction to the Sound Mind Membership, a new community offering that combines peer connection, professional and practical support, “LifeGuides” for deeper learning, and optional live online sessions with Ojo and Martin.
Admission is free, but space is limited, and registration is encouraged.
