Bell Tech Communications among 6 companies selected for XLerateHealth startup accelerator program

The program operates out of the Ferris Wheel building in downtown Flint and is funded by the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation and 100K Ideas. XLerateHealth opened its doors locally in January of 2019 with the goal of making Flint a standout city in the realm of health care entrepreneurship.

Flint Registry plans summer kick off events

Anyone who was exposed to Flint water from April 25, 2014, to Oct. 15, 2015, is eligible. This includes individuals who lived, worked, or attended school in Flint during that time as well as children who were exposed prenatally. The Flint Registry connects participants to services that reduce the impact of the water crisis.

More than 40 workshops planned as part of Flint resiliency, environmental justice summit

The four-day event hosted by Flint ReCast includes workshops, trainings, and top experts in creating a trauma-informed community as well as a showing of the movie "Inside Out" and Cesar Chavez Remembrance Day.

Flint-area Young Innovators look to solve problems large and small

The Young Innovators Fair is basically an old-school science fair on steroids. Hosted by Kettering University, it featured 102 students in fourth through seventh grade from five local schools with inventions that ran the gamut from stroller skis to a conditioner brush and styrofoam dissolving liquid to paw pads for pets.

The second annual Healthy Flint Research Symposium is set for March 15 at Riverfront Conference Center. Those attending also will have the opportunity to share their ideas on future research in Flint.
