Toast to the new year at Beats x Beers’ 4th annual ‘Toast’ event this weekend

FLINT, Michigan — To end the year in style, the lifestyle brand Beats x Beers will host its fourth annual ‘Toast’ event on Friday, Dec. 22 from 9 PM to 1 AM. Presented by Gift of Life Michigan, the popular soiree will be held at Soothing Tunes (1408 E Hemphill Rd) and aims to be the ultimate holiday celebration.  

Flint native Brandon Corder, creator of Beats x Beers and organizer of ‘Toast,’ is excited to pull out all the stops for this year’s ‘Toast’ as it goes back to an evening event rather than last year’s brunch theme. 

“This year, people can expect ‘Toast’ to return back to a nighttime event, said Corder. “Last year, we did ‘Toast’ as a brunch which was great, but I think people enjoyed the nighttime event, and it’s time to get back to that. This year, we’re doing it Christmas weekend so a lot of people will be home for the holidays and it will give everyone something to do and a reason to reunite.”

The event is for patrons 18+ and cocktail attire is required for the dress-to-impress affair. Fingerfoods and craft cocktails will be available throughout the night while music will be handled by legendary local DJs — DJ Hype, DJ Handelz, and DJ E Nyce.

“I want it to be remembered as a celebration of everything that happened this year,“ said Corder. “Many people haven’t had it easy and I want this to be a time where we can celebrate making it through another year and going into the new year with positive vibes.”

Now that the event has reached its fourth year, Corder says that the planning process has gotten simpler as the Flint community has shown support and even offered to assist him with planning the anticipated party. 

“The planning process is pretty easy now that it’s the fourth year,” said Corder. “It’s something that people already expect. It’s gotten to the point now where people reach out to me beforehand to ask if I need anything for this year’s event. It’s on autopilot almost at this point.”

Although ‘Toast’ is the last Beats x Beers event of the year, Corder is already preparing for what’s to come in the new year, including more curated events and brand partnerships.

“You can expect much more from Beats x Beers — elevation and expansion,” he said. “We’ll be introducing a lot more this year in many different markets across the country and also working with plenty of new partners. Aside from our own events, we’ll also be taking on curating events for other brands/entities as well. It will be a great year.”
