Hamilton Community Health to host free mental health talk on May 16
On Friday, May 16, Hamilton Community Health Network will host 'It’s OK to Not Be OK: Navigating Mental Health Together,' a free community event focused on mental wellness, stigma, and support.
FLINT, Michigan — In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, Hamilton Community Health Network will host a free community discussion on Friday, May 16, titled ‘It’s OK to Not Be OK: Navigating Mental Health Together.’ Part of Hamilton’s ongoing Healthy Mind/Healthy Body Behavioral Health series, the talk will focus on breaking stigma, building support systems, and promoting mental wellness for all.
The event takes place from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hamilton’s North Pointe Clinic, 5710 Clio Road in Flint. It is open to the public, including both Hamilton patients and non-patients. Light refreshments will be served, and attendees will have a chance to win wellness-themed giveaways.
Albert Ujkaj, MBA, LMSW, Hamilton’s Director of Behavioral Health, will lead the conversation. “Mental health struggles can affect anyone, at any time,” Ujkaj said. “It’s important to remind people that seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness.”
This month’s talk will also highlight the mental health challenges mothers face, ranging from postpartum stress to the daily pressures of parenting. Organizers say the timing is intentional, offering mothers a space to feel seen, supported, and connected during Mother’s Day season.
Hamilton’s behavioral health talks are held monthly and aim to provide accessible, judgment-free conversations about mental wellness. To RSVP, email: Outreach@hamiltonchn.org.
