Old Newsboys getting ready for 94th year

Families in need can begin signing up for the Christmas Box program on Monday, Oct. 29, 2018.

The Old Newsboys of Flint have making Christmas merrier for children throughout Genesee County        since 1924, and this year is no different. Enrollment opens for the Christmas Box Program on October 29, 2018.

In their first year 210 children across Genesee County found presents under the tree thanks to the organization. To date, more than 812,000 children have received gifts from Santa via the Old Newsboys.

Through the decades The Old Newsboys have been a charitable standard in Flint and Genesee County, committed to always coming through to make sure all children have the opportunity to find a present on Christmas morning.

Donations and the annual newspaper sale, fund their operations. At intersections and businesses throughout Genesee County, Old Newsboys sells their newspapers the second Friday in December.

Applicants can sign up to receive a Christmas present for their children through Dec. 21, 2018. Applications should be made at the Old Newsboys office, 6255 Taylor Drive, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The offices are closed for lunch from noon to 1 p.m.
