American Airlines will begin offering twice daily service to Charlotte Douglas International Airport in September. It is American Airline's second-largest hub and the 10th largest airport in the nation — with more destinations (including 25 countries), more flights, and more passengers than Detroit.

New community center at Flint’s former Coolidge Elementary lands $50,000 grant

Consumers Energy Foundation awarded the grant to Communities First Inc., which is spearheading the $16.5 million community development project that includes renovating the long-closed Coolidge Elementary School building into apartments and constructing a new four-story building to create a mixed-use commercial and residential space.

The Civic Park Neighborhood historic marker was rededicated after undergoing $6,000 in repairs as part of the neighborhood’s yearlong centennial celebration. The sign pays homage to Civic Park’s status since 1979 as a nationally recognized historic district and is symbolic of the neighborhood's ongoing revitalization.
