Flint and Genesee County Community Development Mixer set for Sept. 18
Communities First hosts a Community Development Mixer on Sept. 18 at the Flint Farmers’ Market rooftop, highlighting progress and partnerships.

FLINT, Michigan — Communities First, Inc. is inviting residents, local leaders, and changemakers to gather for an evening of networking and celebration at the Flint and Genesee County Community Development Mixer on Thursday, Sept. 18, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The event takes place on the rooftop terrace of the Flint Farmers’ Market (300 E 1st St.) with support from sponsors including MSHDA, Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis, Lurvey Construction, APCO, and PNC Bank. Attendees can expect live music, light refreshments, and plenty of opportunities to connect in a lively outdoor setting.
Organizers say the mixer is designed to foster collaboration across the community development sector while highlighting the progress happening throughout Flint and Genesee County.
“The Community Development Mixer is a fantastic chance to bring together those who are passionate about improving their communities,” said Glenn Wilson, president and CEO of Communities First. “By coming together, we can share ideas, forge new partnerships, and continue our mission to build stronger, more resilient communities. We are excited to host this event and look forward to the meaningful connections that will be made.”
Communities First, Inc., a nonprofit Community Development Corporation based in Flint, serves more than 35,000 people across Michigan and Indiana through affordable housing, economic development, and innovative programs.
