FLINT, Michigan — Flint-based nonprofit organization 100K Ideas announced that it received a $35,000 grant from the Consumers Energy Foundation — a charitable arm of Consumers Energy. The grant aims to support current and future 100K Ideas clients pursuing their entrepreneurial journey.

“The Consumers Energy Foundation is thrilled to support the Flint community’s most creative minds, an extension of our efforts to build strong businesses and communities across Michigan,” said Carolyn Bloodworth, the Consumers Energy Foundation’s Secretary/Treasurer. “We hope this grant for 100K Ideas will help more entrepreneurs turn their ideas into reality and make Flint an even better place to work and live.”

The $35,000 grant goes to 100K Ideas’ continued expansion of direct client services across Flint locations like the Ferris Wheel, the Flint Development Center, Berston Field House, and the LatinX Technology and Community Center. The services provided include research, CAD design, logo and website design, concept sketches, and more.

In addition, the Consumers Energy Foundation Grant will help 100K Ideas’ outreach efforts to spread awareness of their existence to help increase the creation of small and local businesses and sustain the growth of existing businesses.

“We are incredibly grateful and excited to partner with Consumers Energy,” said Brandee Cooke-Brown, Executive Director of 100K Ideas. “These funds will help us continue to expand our programming in the region. It will also help bring us closer to our goal of providing the opportunity to launch a business to any innovator regardless of their previous experience or background.”
