Genesee Career Institute to Host Meet the Teacher Event

FLINT, Michigan – Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD) is inviting current and incoming Genesee Career Institute (GCI) students and their families to the annual Meet the Teacher event on Wednesday, August 19, from 3:30 to 6 p.m.

The event gives students and families a chance to meet GCI instructors and staff, tour classrooms and labs, and knock out back-to-school tasks before classes start, including picking up parking permits and bus rider passes, completing Base Camp waivers and handbook acknowledgments, and asking questions about schedules and programs.

Parents and guardians can also get help setting up their ParentVUE and StudentVUE accounts, which are separate from those used by their local school district.

“Meet the Teacher gives students and families the opportunity to become familiar with GCI before the first day of school,” said Jason Carlisle, GCI’s principal. “Whether it’s meeting instructors, exploring our learning environments, or completing important back-to-school items, we want every student to begin the year feeling prepared and confident.”
