Job fair set to fill early childhood education openings

Early childhood education has increased substantially in Flint and Genesee County over the last several years, adding to the need for more workers.

The Genesee Intermediate School district is hosting an early childhood job fair on Nov. 1 to fill immediate job openings.

Some of the available positions include lead teachers, associate teachers, classroom support, custodial, bus drivers and transportation aids at a number of locations across Genesee County. The positions work with infant, toddler, and preschool programing. 

Interested applicants should come to the job fair with an updated resume and prepared for an on-the-spot interview. 

The job fair is 4-7 p.m. Nov. 1 at the Genesee Career Institute Innovation Zone, 5081 Torrey Road. 

The GISD offers continuing education opportunities including funding to cover associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s degrees in early childhood. For more information, potential job candidates may call (810) 591-4456. To learn more about the various programs GISD offers visit www.geneseeisd.org.

Early childhood education has increased substantially in Flint and Genesee County over the last several years. All children are eligible for free preschool education at age 4. There are also several large scale free early childhood education opportunities starting at birth in Flint, including the EduCare school and the Great Expectations program.
