Hamilton Community Health Network and Kappa Alpha Psi, Inc. Host Men’s Health Event

FLINT, MI — Hamilton Community Health Network is teaming up with the Flint Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. to host “Real Talk About Men’s Health and Cancer Risk,” a free prostate cancer education and screening event, on Saturday, August 1.

Prostate cancer disproportionately affects men with a family history of the disease, and organizers say the event aims to remove barriers to care and open up conversations about men’s health in the community. People attending the event will be able to learn about prostate cancer risk factors, speak directly with healthcare providers, access screening services, and pick up practical wellness tips.

Experts from the University of Michigan and Hamilton will also be on hand to discuss cancer’s broader impact on patients and families.

“Hamilton is committed to building healthier communities by meeting people where they are,” said Clarence Pierce, CEO of Hamilton Community Health Network. “Too many men delay care or avoid screenings altogether. This event is about encouraging men to take that first step, because early detection can save lives.” Community members are encouraged to attend, especially those with a family history of prostate cancer or who may be at higher risk.
