FLINT, Michigan — On Saturday, Feb. 12, Harlem, NY rap artist and actor Dave East was the featured guest in a meet-and-greet hosted event by JARS Cannabis, Michigan’s leading lifestyle retailer of affordable and accessible cannabis products.

The event consisted of one-on-one photo opportunities for fans and JARS customers. Followed by the meet-and-greet appearance, JARS representatives interviewed East about his personal history with cannabis, his consumption preferences as well as the benefits of medical and recreational cannabis. East was invited as a guest in celebration of an ongoing series of inclusive conversations on the intersection of cannabis with art, music, and culture.

The event was open to all (18+ with MMMP license OR 21+ with valid ID) with free admission and served as an exclusive opportunity for fans and members of the media to meet East, take a personal photo with the artist, and also capture footage of the overall event.

“JARS Cannabis is in the process of developing a light-hearted but educational video content series that aims to highlight the intersection of cannabis with the arts, culture, and entertainment spaces,” said James Thigpen Jr., brand manager at JARS Cannabis. “In our video content series “How I Roll,” we interview artists across various industries while exploring each individual’s consumption preferences and rolling techniques. JARS opted to recruit and feature Dave East in our upcoming content series because of his strong ties to the cannabis community as a consumer and fellow entrepreneur.”

During the event, JARS Cannabis budtenders were available to assist customers and guests while answering questions and processing purchases on the sales floor. Event attendees and customers who shopped during the meet-and-greet event were eligible to receive a 20% off coupon that is redeemable during their next purchase in-store at any JARS location.

“At JARS, we are firm believers that cannabis creates community. We recognize the importance of investing and engaging with each community that we are fortunate to inhabit, and this event served as an opportunity for the music, culture, and cannabis communities amongst Flint to collide,” said Thigpen.

According to Thigpen, there will be many partnerships and plenty of events in the future for community members and customers to participate in.

In partnership with the radio station 98.9 The Beat, JARS Cannabis is sponsoring a live comedy show that will feature comedians DC Young Fly and Karlous Miller with special guest RIP Micheals at the Whiting on Feb. 25 at 7:30 pm.

Community members can support and engage with JARS Cannabis by following the company on Instagram or Facebook, attending events, or shopping at one of their 10 locations.
