Senior AI Education to host free technology event to help seniors
Flint seniors can get free hands-on help with phones, laptops, apps, and AI tools May 15.

FLINT, Michigan — Senior citizens across Flint and Mid-Michigan are invited to attend a free technology support event next month to help older adults feel more confident using everyday devices.
Hosted by Senior AI Education, the “Bring Your Device” event will take place on Friday, May 15, at 2 p.m. in the Mott Room at the Flint Public Library.
The hands-on session encourages attendees to bring smartphones, tablets, or laptops to receive live assistance from technology professionals. Organizers say support will be available for a variety of common tech concerns, including device settings, email access, passwords, apps, internet questions, and understanding artificial intelligence tools.
The event is designed to create a welcoming environment where seniors can ask questions and receive one-on-one guidance without feeling intimidated by rapidly changing technology.
“This event is about making sure seniors feel supported, not overwhelmed, by technology,” said Sherrod Pigee, director of Senior AI Education, in a statement. “Whether someone needs help with a phone, laptop, email, apps, or understanding AI tools, we want them to know they are not alone.”
Organizers say the event is part of a broader effort to help seniors remain connected, informed, and comfortable navigating digital tools and online spaces.
Community groups, churches, caregivers, and families are also being encouraged to help spread the word to older adults who may benefit from additional technology support.
