Flint Alley Fest returns with 4 stages featuring local bands, fashion, talent

Alley Fest returns 3-10 p.m. Saturday, July 13, and this year will be fully enclosed — spanning from Buckham Alley and portions of First and Saginaw streets — which allows for the addition of street (and alley) bars.

Fearless Women of Flint honored in newly commissioned sculpture

Created by British-Nigerian artist yinka Shonibare, the piece "Magic Ladder Kid VI" incorporates the names of 20 women who have had an impact on Flint and beyond. It will be on display at the MW Gallery in downtown Flint starting June 1.

Revamped and expanded Be a Tourist in Your Hometown features multiple tours throughout summer

One-day tours will be offered from May to October and include a Craft Beer Scene Tour, Trails Tour, History Tour, Orchards Tour, and Arts and Culture Tour. The series kicks off May 18 with the free Family Friendly Tour.

Flint Cycle Fest will feature rides of 3 miles, 10 miles, or 20 miles through scenic areas of downtown Flint, Kearsley Park, the Genesee Valley Trail, and the Flint River Trail — as well as an after party in Carriage Town Neighborhood Square on June 9.  

Flint native Brandon Corder is back with the third annual Beats x BBQ event this Memorial Day weekend.

Coming to downtown Flint’s Brush Park, Beats x BBQ will feature five local DJs performing throughout the day alongside some of Flint’s favorite eats as well as a car and bike show, dance performance, live painting by Charles Boike, skateboarding demonstration, and Flint fashion vendors.
