Flint Fright Film Fest to feature more than 30 short horror films from around the world

FLINT, Michigan—For those looking for a good scare, look no further than the third annual Flint Fright Film Fest set for Saturday, Oct. 12 in the Memorial Building Auditorium at Mott Community College.

The lineup is packed with more than 30 short horror films from around the world. The event takes the stage from noon to 7:30 p.m., culminating in an awards ceremony highlighting some of the best flics.

Awards include the Grand Ghoul for best overall film, Chaney Award for film with the best special effects, and the Bradbury award for best writing as well as three memorial awards. The final award of the evening is the Marilyn Ringler Memorial Award for the scariest film, named in honor of Flint Horror Collective Chris Ringler’s mother. 

Ten vendors will also be on site with a variety of offerings from film to vintage Halloween items. 

Entertainment will be offered during intermissions by bellydancers from Magick in Motion 

The event is geared for an adult crowd. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. 

Tickets are $5 and available at the door. Entry is free for current Mott Community College students with a valid ID.
